1. Know first the color basic

2. Choose among neutrals, bright or trendy colors

4. Have some handy color pallettes (paint swatches)
Paint or Color swatches are sample of colors to choose from and helps you to visualize better your designated work and design creating color schemes and own sets or palettes for a room. It can also help you to easily order paintings by showing to the seller the color from the swatches instead of explaining it roughly.
5. Learn to mix and match; harmonize colors
You should know the basic harmonies for mixing and matching colors for the painting of your walls and know what color of accents and furnitures to put in to unify with the rest of the elements on the interior space, also remember what’s on the wheel:
PRIMARY COLORS- foundation of all colors—red, blue, yellow
SECONDARY COLORS- mix of two primary colors— yellow+blue, blue+red, red+yellow
TERTIARY COLORS- mix of primary and secondary colors— yellow orange, red orange, yellow green, blue green, blue violet and red violet
