    Distinguish Modern and Traditional

Brand new design ideas are shared fast pace through technology—the internet making it harder to distinguish the two styles since the modern ones are mostly shared and used in the design industry. Let’s freshen up our minds and remember the distinction of traditional and modern before getting started

    • Richer in Color
    • Darker
    • Vintage
    • Usually in Country Homes and Farmhouses
    • Furnitures from pure materials: wood and leather; animal skins, tree chunks
    • More Dramatic
    • Clustered
    • Rustic
    • Elements are compressed
    • COLOR SCHEME: mostly brown, black, gray

    • Spacious
    • Brighter
    • Minimalism
    • Simpler
    • Either Neutral or Vibrant (without so much darkness or color of black)
    • Either Pastel or Pop
    • More choices and themes under
    • Materials of furnitures from modern technology
COLOR SCHEME: mostly white, yellow, pop red, orange, pastel blue and other cool colors

    Balance old and new

Old will meet new and all you have to do is keep them at peace together. You can have vintage floorings, walls, cladding while bringing up modern and brand new furniture and lightnings. Don’t stick on one aspect and be bias, remember your goals not to be confused with what type of furnitures and furnishings you’ll put.

You can also combine two styles in flooring: wooden traditional flooring and  white modern tiles. The trick is great and best when you want to divide the space without any additional interior walls or divider.

    Mix traditional and modern furniture

Traditional Furnitures never goes out of fashion: this includes furnitures out of wood and leather like sofa, wooden dining table, china cabinet; And so does life wouldn’t be complete without metallic designs— a glint of gold or sparkling silver like glass tables, handles on chairs. Combine traditional and modern furniture to create unique style.

    Contrasting accents

Accents and other decor adds to the quirkness of your combined style. Be confident with your personal choice and never hesitate to mix and match them.

    Choose the right colors

Though it can be hard, still insist to pick the right palette and stand for it. There is no wide distinction of hues between traditional and modern, just the shade, tone and tint. Traditional colors are darker while modern are lighter and pop. For example is for the base of red: pastel pink can be seen on modern while retro and exotic red on the traditional. You can choose primary colors for painting and upholsteries and adjust later on whether it should be brighter or darker—depend on the other elements and the space.
