Things Kitchen Designers notice when they walk in your Kitchen

When kitchen designers walk in a kitchen, they first notice details that, usually, non-kitchen designers do not perceive; such as, cleanliness, order, space management, storage, the material of objects and utensils, easiness of movement, functionality, and decoration. All of these elements need to be respected if you want an attractive and functional kitche

Kitchen designers notice tiny details that we usually do not see or think about, details that, if well cared for, make movement in your kitchen easier, and your time consumed in it enjoyable and wisely spent.

    Functionality

Functionality as a whole is a main focus of kitchen designers when they observe a kitchen’s design for the first time. Everything that promotes this feature is welcomed and approved by them. Functionality is shown through the storage repartition in a kitchen and through space organization, fostering easiness of movement and facilitation of everyday kitchen tasks. Kitchen designer Gillian Lazanik, suggests using drawer organizers to create an area for your kitchen utensils. Their individual compartments will prompt you to put everything back in its place after each use, recommending the custom built-in drawer organizer from Dura Supreme Cabinetry which provides specialized storage for steak knives and spices. “Always locate the refrigerator in a place where the cook can easily access it and so can all of the cook’s family without stepping into the cooking zone”, confirms Kitchen Designer Kerrie Kelly. She also explains that the kitchen island is a custom made multitasking piece of furniture where “everybody can prepare food, stash dinnerware and have breakfast”.

    Open shelving

Built-in open shelves give an impression of a more spacious area, and things put on them are being constantly ventilated. Nevertheless, one inconvenience about it would be that they get easily dusty and messy, so you will have to take care of this trouble and avoid dust and mess on these shelves.

    Material

The choices of bags for grocery shopping are many, but cotton bags are found to be very optimal. Cotton bags are biodegradable, which is good for the environment and the food you put in them. On kitchen objects material, Kitchen designer Sarah Langtry also suggests splurging on stone or quartz countertops as they are the most durable option, when it comes to materials in kitchen.

    Sink-window

A window overlooking nature, sea, or trees, that is just above the kitchen sink. This idea would inject in the person who does the dishwashing calmness and relaxation. As dishwashing is quite boring and repetitive, such scenery would help the dishwasher do his or her task without getting bored, and even help them meditate and ponder over positive ideas while washing the dishes.

    Pot racks

Then, we have pot racks.  This statement piece is much appreciated by kitchen designers, for its practicality and decorative sides. Owning a pot rack brings order to your kitchen and free up cabinet and drawers space! Using pot racks, according to Home Stratosphere website (including many Interior designers) is a smart way to keep things organized, and it is also easier for one to just reach for a pan from the rack than having to pull several pieces from the cabinet or drawer to get one. Aside from organizing your kitchen and adding decorative vibes, pot racks can also showcase your cookware, especially if you love spending time in your kitchen, states the same website.
