    Wood

Although wood is one of the most expensive materials, but it is surely a luxurious one and holds an elegant appeal. The most prestigious mansions adopted wood for their kitchen pantry cabinet or for the island placed at the center. It gives a rustic look with its different levels and shades. Besides its aesthetic trait, wood is very durable and lasts for hundreds of years especially if the work is done by a professional carpenter.  However, wood needs a high level of maintenance so it won’t break or wrap.

    Plywood

Plywood has become very popular recently due to its high durable and strength. Being cheaper than real wood, plywood is manufactured by uniting veneer layers together and polishing them once done. It makes a great material for home depot kitchen cabinets or countertops. It also fights moisture, carry heavyweight and some types are waterproof.

    MDF

Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is a highly dense synthetic material that fights humidity and is resistant. Its smooth texture that comes in defined shapes and colors gives it an amazing appearance. However, MDF is not as durable as other materials but is affordable for low budget owners.

    HDF

High density fireboard (HDF) is somehow similar in its characteristics to MDF but denser. HDF is also affordable with a very consistent with flat outlook that can be easily shaped. However, it is affected by water and may contain some toxic elements.

    PVC

Polyvinyl Chloride is a material with a high density consisting of board with defined thickness and sizes. Beneficial for short term use only, PVC holds low resistance can be broken up or damaged and can attract insects due to their weak and hollow texture. Thus, it is better if a professional carpenter put them to avoid any improper installation. From another hand, PVC is easily transportable due to its low weight and can resist moisture, fire and rot. It is perfect for colorful kitchen ideas since it can be painted using many options.

    Stainless Steel

Not only good looking, stainless steel gives the kitchen a cohesive and stylish look. Resistant to humidity, moisture or high temperature, stainless steel are highly used especially for cabinets and islands. However, their color is unified and cannot be changed. Thus, to give a lively ambience to the kitchen, some decoration such as flower arrangements, colorful pots or some patterned colored plates can be added.

    Aluminium

One of the most suitable materials for a modular kitchen is Aluminium. This input comes in different colors to suit the preferences of all users. It fights corrosion and moisture. However, just like stainless steel, it can make noise within time and get cavities inside of it.

Ulitmately, whatever the material is, the most important thing is that it matches the needs of its users and gives them the satisfaction they are looking for. For that, no home is beautiful and comfortable enough if it does not express the personal preferences of its inhabitants.
