    Yellow and Beige

Yellow and beige are very similar colors indeed, but that’s what makes it so hard to mix them. The key is in the tone of yellow: If you use sunflower yellow, you should use it on your paint and get a beige sofa or rug. It will ease the strong yellow color. On the contrary, if you decide to buy yellow furniture, make sure the color does not stand out and it rather matches with the tones of your paint. This way, the two can balance each other while creating a color mix.

Beige, White, Brown, Black, Grey… Mix It All!

Mixing all the colors is the hardest, especially if these colors are of similar tones. Because none of the either stands the other out. So, what you should do is, create a flow in your living room. For example, your curtains can be beige, while the paint is white. Also, you can have wooden coffee table to create authenticity in addition to a nice brown color mix in your living room. Don’t forget that colors like brown, beige or white are here to help you make other colors stand out. So, you should make an extra effort in strengthening these colors’ voice and stand out like bright red or dark blue.

    All the Bright Colors!

This one is perhaps the hardest one. The colors that stand out all at once! The trick here is to use the matte and pastel tones of each color. This way, your living room will look alive and entertaining. Although this color mix is the hardest one, if done correctly with balancing amount of colors, it will look great! One thing one should be careful of is to not paint all the walls. Otherwise, the color of the paint will overwhelm you as there are also other colors used in the living room.

    Grey and Red

If you want colorful cushions, the best possible color is red! Even if you don’t use any other color that stands out in your living room, red will already make the room alive and breathing.

Yet, almost anyone interested in interior design knows that red is the ultimate color for a living room. If you want a signature look, you should complement your red cushions with grey furniture.

    Red and Blue

Another great way to complement the color red is blue. Yet, if you have to work with blue, then you should be extra careful not to use it too much. For example, you can create a color mix with using red lighting and wall art next to a dark blue furniture. You definitely should not use light blue, as it will compete with red rather than complementing it. You can also add a bit of brown with adding one or two leather chairs.

These five simple color mix and match will give life to your living room! As it can be seen, the main thing you should look out for is not to make the colors compete with each other. Make them complement or even add up to one another!
